Puffy Squares

I've been using this one as my small on-going hand quilting project.  Now it's finally finished!  I tried something different by using wool batting.  It's a bit puffier, and so very soft!  It should also be very warm.

I'm still kinda loving these colors together. (I showed you a sneak peak back here) You can see the extra puffiness here.  The only reason I wouldn't use this too often in quilts I sell is that some people may be allergic to wool.

Way back when I cut these squares out, I made an extra set of squares.  This bundle is available in my shop.  It's 5" squares, - 120 of them!  It's exactly the same as this quilt, and even has enough to make that scrappy strip on the back of the quilt.

  3. I tend to prefer to use wool as it is warmer and fire retardant, I dont think the allergies would be a problem as its covered in cotton, lovely quilt.,

  4. I love it, the colours you chose are lovely! I made a quilt for my oldest son that has wool batting and I love the puffy squishiness. It keeps you the perfect temperature and feels light and soft.

  6. It looks beautiful and I adore wool batting (I use Hobbs Heirloom wool)...the only drawback is that those quilts can't go in the dryer. But wool batting is great all year round and so light, yummy.

I like the puffy-fluffy. I think that it is well accented with the hand quilting :)
