Quilt top and binding: 1/2 yard bundle of Chicopee by Denyse Schmidt
Backing: Grey Hope Valley Print and Heath by Alexander Henry
Pattern: Broken Arrows by Charlotte Dumesney
I saw this quilt pattern on Flickr and loved it! I left a comment wondering how I would ever find this magazine in Canada (it's printed and distributed in Australia and I couldn't seem to find it online). A very kind lady offered to send me one. I paid her for it, but I so appreciated her taking the time to send it to me! The generosity of every quilter I have met online continues to amaze me. For that reason, I'd like to pass this magazine on to one of you.
I will mention that I don't recommend this pattern for a beginning quilter. It doesn't seem like a complicated design, but it's a lot of strips to sew together, and for some reason I found it slightly challenging. Therefore I'd label it an intermediate pattern. Anyone who has made a handful of quilts will be fine with it, of course.
I'd like to send it to someone else who is also interested in making this quilt. Of course, I won't demand that you end up making it :), but I'd really like to help the person who also wants to make this pattern.
If you're out there, just comment on this post. The first person that says they really do pretty please want this magazine because they want to try their hand at making a quilt with this pattern, will get it!
Edited to add: The magazine has found a new home. I'm so sorry that I don't have one to give each of you! I didn't realize how many of you would like to make this pattern...
Here's a bit more info about the magazine to hopefully help you find it. It's Quilter's Companion:Modern Quilts Volume1. I think it's the first in their new line of 'Modern Quilts' line of magazines. I can't find any dates on the magazine. The cover photo is a triangle quilt in grays and primary colors.
Here's a link to one shop that seems to have it for sale (it's in Australia)
