Blue and Green Scraps Log Cabin

Here's the first finished quilt as a result of emptying out my blue and green scrap bins!  I used all blue and green scraps indiscriminately, adding neutrals as the contrast logs in each block.  As I was making block and putting them on the design wall, I was feeling alarmed by the chaos of colors.  So many prints with a blue or green background had lots of bright pinks in them and it was making it look a little crazier than I had envisioned.

I reassured myself though that the final step of quilting and then washing the quilt, always blends and brings the blocks together, and once again it did!

I used a voile on the back, and my go-to poly/cotton blend batting.

  3. I admire your bravery in forging ahead with these scraps. I'm afraid I might have bailed at some point and then, there would be no quilt this fabulous. I love the variety, it gives me more and more to look at, and love.

  18. This is really beautiful! I agree that sometimes I'm not totally in love with a quilt top I've made, but once it is quilted and washed it transforms into something else completely. Usually I love them in the end.

  20. All the designs which are all done in the above clothes in embroidary way has been really mind blowing because on seeing those images i have understood one thing that, if a person has creative thinking means then, he should allow his innovative and creative thinking to flow in a free manner. Even myself who has been working as a research paper writer in one of the leading online research paper writing assistance website, had restricted my creativity and innovative thinking during my childhood days and so, because of that, now i have been struggling a lot in my career. So, at any cost don't let your creative and innovative thinking to go down.

  21. Beautiful! Congratulations on making a dent! I too have a lot of scraps in blue and green. I just finished two quilt tops with these colors and it looks like I barely touched the scraps! Yikes!
