I wanted to show you this quilt, but I don't have a lot of words to add. I have purposefully chosen to keep this blog only as a journal of my quilting. Most of the time, I'm great with that. I enjoy reading about others' personal lives and find inspiration from blogs that talk about real heart matters and the deep down soul-touching stuff (like this). But, for various reasons, that's not what I'm doing here.
So right now I go blah blah blah di blah about this quilt, when really this is just barely scratching the surface of things I care about, or am thinking about...Well it just feels a bit silly. But, moving on...
I really do like this quilt, and my husband said he liked it too, (without me asking him!) I did some good old-fashioned stipple quilting on this one. I'm still really liking straight line quilting more at the moment, but for some reason, or no reason, this happened.
This quilt is made directly from a pattern in Scrap Republic. I yabbered a bit about this book back here. Somehow I thought this quilt would end up bigger than what it did. It's only about 45" square. I think I'd like to take the pattern and see if I could find a simple way to enlarge the whole thing a bit. Maybe I could even just add wider strips of neutral color.
I found this quilt very gratifying to make. I just indulged my love of bright saturated colors and scrappiness!

Very pretty and vibrant, sometimes there are no need for words, a picture says it all!
ReplyDeleteit's lovely. I particularly like how you've used various colors of white and cream. That adds interesting shapes to what would otherwise be solid white sashing areas. Nice!

Beautiful and happy! It could easily be made larger. I like the color of the solid you used. It's a bit softer than white.
ReplyDeleteI love the diversity I find in blogs. Some are very personal, others less so, others driven by a business plan. I hope that you're able to find peace with what has been on your mind.
